The Morning of Your Wedding Day
I’m a big fan of marking sure your wedding day feels like YOU. That means, we ditch the preconceived notions and we do what makes sense. Rather than starting hair & makeup at the crack of dawn, opt for multiple artists (if you have attendants or parents who plan to get dolled up. If not, push it back and use your morning to relax — whatever that means for you. Here are a few ideas:
CONNECT WITH NATURE — Getting outside for some fresh air is a wonderful way to start your wedding day. Obviously, there are things to consider. Don’t get terribly sweaty unless you’re planning a shower. Don’t put on sunscreen without your beauty team’s approval, either! Invite your friends and take a hike, bike ride or swim. Connecting with water is a great, calming way to start your day.
PAMPER YOURSELF — If the outdoors aren’t calling to you, consider staying indoors for a little TLC. I recommend a gentle yoga session, manicure/ pedicure or a massage. If you, like me, love fresh nails and it’s something that you have time for, hire a mobile nail technician to take care of your nails. They come to you and it’s likely something that can happen during hair & make-up. Facials are a great way to pamper yourself but these are too risky for a wedding day. You’ll want to ensure that your beauty team approves of any additional services happening the day of (or week of) your big day.
MAKE A PLAYLIST — Music has a huge impact on our mood. Set the ambience with whatever you think you may need. Do you want your morning to be mellow and sweet or are you ready to party? I can’t tell you how many times a day I ask Google Home to play relaxing music on Spotify. My husband is a songwriter and Iive in Nashville so music is my life. I made a Get Ready Playlist on Spotify. It’s the perfect mix of relaxing and sweet love songs to play while you’re having hair and make-up done on your wedding day.
