Grandma Chic in Shades of Green

Libby & Ben

June 18, 2022

Libby loves vintage and color and patterns. We started with pinks, blues and greens and eventually narrowed her design to shades of green and the result is one of my favorite designs. It’s traditional but edgy and so unique.

At the top of Libby’s bridal outfit requests was “a dramatic sleeve moment.” Edith and Karen at B. Hughes helped her customize her gown to include voluminous puff sleeves to her strapless dress. Muna Couture finished her veil by hand with French lace and designed Libby’s second-look sequined dress.

Libby wore bracelets, earrings, and a necklace that the women in her family all wore before her for their weddings. The original wearer was her grandmother’s great-grandmother, Margaret Evans, at her marriage to Joseph Horton Fall on October 4, 1872, in Nashville. 150 years later, these treasures would make an aisle appearance once more when Libby walked down the aisle at Scarritt Bennett Chapel and partied the night away at Belle Meade Country Club.
