A Moment for Coastal Grandma Vibes
I serve on the board of directors for Wedding Industry Professionals Association and had the opportunity to design our August meeting. This event included dinner, drinks and a 2 hour panel discussion on pricing in the wedding industry. I always begin designing an event with my couple’s favorite art or architecture in mind. Cheekwood’s Massey Hall is a black canvas so I used a unique linen pattern as my design inspiration. Nuage Designs is the leader in couture linen rentals with over fifteen years experience servicing top event planners, celebrities and luxury hotels around the world. Nuage's Director of Sales, Eleanor Scola, offered up the new Suzani line and I ran with it. Verde Suzani reminded me of a pattern my Nana would have loved and harkened memories of blackberry picking in the summer time. Verdi Suzani paired perfectly with Nuage's pink, green and blue stripes for a fun, grandma chic event.
The florals and greenery were inspired by a garden wedding that I planned in Sewanee with Echoes of Eden. It was lovely to have the Echoes of Eden team and Erin Fox Photo back for another event together. Striped draping by Quest Events softened the room and brought the preppy, coastal look together. The pink menus and welcome shadow box, by White Ink Calligraphy, were the cutest pop of color. Every Read Event House event has to have a little bit of black so the new black and cane Wells chairs from Please Be Seated gave the event a masculine edge.
This event was so fun to plan and design! I wanted it to feel like your chic coastal Grandma moved to the south and she's not taking any of your sass. I could not have done this without all of these amazing, talented sponsors listed below.
